I will be working on posting new photos this week and next week. We have been so busy, that I just have not had any time. I will also be re-arranging some of the pages on this website. I'll try my best to get everything up to date very soon!
Not a whole lot of updates.
We've been busy this past week so I had to take the bunny pictures a couple days late. Mopsy (now Matilda) is gone. We gave her away last Tuesday. Fluffy will be gone sometime today. She is a really nice rabbit! :-) Småkake and Brun (Annie's) look like identical twins and I have a very hard time telling them apart! This coming Friday we will be taking Annie's babies to a children's (ages 3-5) story time through our library. The theme they will be doing this week is farm related, so it's a perfect time to bring the little bunnies there. The little kids will probably love the bunnies and the bunnies will be getting some socialization. Fluffy is now being weaned since we have found a new home for her. She also will be gone sometime next week. There are still 3 left that need homes!
It's been a couple weeks since I last updated this blog/website.
Annie's 2nd runt died about a week after he was born. A couple days before, we had started feeding him a kitten milk supplement. He seemed to be doing well until the morning we found him kicked out of Annie's nest. He was cold and we tried to warm him up under a chicken lamp, but he ended up dying a few minutes later. The others are thriving and doing well. They are now two weeks old and all them have opened their eyes. Buttercup's babies are growing fast. They are fun, friendly, playful and adorable. And now we think that the whole litter are girls! Last night I weaned Mopsy since she will be going to a new home next week. I kept her inside over night to make sure she was eating and drinking water. She did just fine and is very sweet bunny! I for sure have a home for another of Buttercup's babies (I'm sure which one, since the buyers haven't picked which one they want yet). That means I still need to find homes for the 3 remaining rabbits. If you know anyone who would be interested, feel free to tell them about this website. With all these babies, I now have a total of 14 rabbits! Well, I think that's about all I have to say for now! You may think that the names for Annie's babies are very strange, but they are actually Norwegian for certain English words! Since I like the country of Norway, I decided to give these babies Norwegian word names. Sebastian (their father) is a Norwegian name.
Svart (svahrt) means black Godter (goter) means candy Småkake (smaw-kaa-kerr) means biscuit Brun (brewn) means brown Brukket (brew-ket) means broken Interestingly, Milkshake in Norwegian is pronounced milkshake! The babies are wandering around a bit more. It was a bit hard to get a good picture of each baby, since they were crawling all over the place as I was trying to snap a picture. Småkake was the wiggliest of all. It was very hard to take his/her picture! Very cute babies! |
